Repeat Prescribing is changing in 2025 - NOTE: Your pharmacy will not request repeat medication on your behalf unless this has been agreed between GP & Pharmacy (exceptional circumstances only)

ALERT

From May 2025 this Practice is moving to 'patient led ordering'. This change has been put in place by NHS England.

What does this mean for me?

Unless it has been agreed with the GP & Pharmacy, the only way you will be able to order your repeat medication will be:
  1. Online via the GP practice online ordering process or the NHS app (this is the safest and easiest way).
  2. Via the repeat prescription box at the GP practice.
  3. Via post to the GP practice using the repeat prescription slip.

NOTE: Pharmacies will not be requesting repeat medication on behalf of patients unless this has been agreed between GP & Pharmacy (these are exceptional circumstances only).

Did you know you can manage repeat prescriptions from The Willows Surgery in the NHS App?

You can easily choose where your prescriptions are sent. So, if you know you'll be away from home or you are moving home, you can change your nominated pharmacy from within the app.

You can also order your prescription at any time that suits you. There’s no need to wait to join a telephone queue or wait until the GP surgery opens.

It’s easy to use, and, if you hit a snag, you can go to ‘Help’ in the top right-hand corner of the app or visit nhs.uk/helpmeapp.

Find out more about the NHS App at: www.nhs.uk/nhsapp.

This change has been put in place by NHS England and is not a decision which has been made by The Willows Medical Practice however we are here to help during this transition, please let us know if you would like support.

Thanks for your understanding
