Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

Patients approved by their doctor for repeat prescriptions can order medication in the following ways:

  • Online- follow the link at the top of this page and complete a simple registration.
  • In person- place your repeat slip in the box provided at the surgery with the required items clearly marked.
  • By post- send it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want us to post it back to you.

In the interests of safety we do not accept requests for prescriptions over the telephone.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, practice nurse or pharmacist at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Help with NHS costs

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

  • those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
  • those who are age exempt
  • those with certain medical conditions
